34 weeks with little Norah!

I really need to start using my dslr again!
How Far Along: 34 weeks! Wasn't I just announcing I was even pregnant!

Size of baby: The size of a pumpkin and over 5 pounds! 

Total Weight Gain/Loss: 19lbs so doing great in my eyes especially compared to when I was pregnant with Vince!

Maternity Clothes: Jeans is still the only "maternity" items I wear, but the need for longer shirts is really here and I just keep wearing the same long shirts over and over!

Movement: I can feel her all over! But this time I feel her super low! I don't remember feeling Vince that low and from pictures it looks like I am a tad lower as well

Symptoms: Being super uncomfortable was in full affect a couple nights ago. I had ate gluten and when I eat it after a little while of not eating it, my stomach kills me. My ribs hurt, literally everything hurt me! But now back to paleo I am feeling much better. I do get some sharp pains pretty low every now and again, but doing good!!

Sleep: Ehh, that is lacking too. I just can't really stay asleep for long amounts of time. I know this is only prep for when she comes. So I make sure to go to bed super early just to ensure that I get enough sleep!

What I miss:  Read question above! I love sleeping and not waking up every couple hours to get comfortable or needing to use the restroom. So full nights sleeps are missed and will be missed for a while I am guessing!

Cravings:  Just about anything!! Spicy, sweet, anything, everything. I give into some, but know that what will happen and I normally take felling comfortable over that piece of cake! I indulged on another flavor of coconut milk ice cream, it was cookie dough flavor and even gluten free! It was amazing! Wouldn't consider it healthy by any means, but better than the real deal, at least for my stomach!!

Best Moment This Week: Sunday we finally put together the crib, painting it was no fun, but it looks amazing in her room! Now to sew her crib sheet!

As for workouts I can still sprint! Saturday I did 21-15-9 of squats with 55 lbs, push press with 55lbs and kettle bell deadlifts with 32kg, then 5, 100 yard sprints with 50-100 yard walks in between. I started getting a low pain so I stopped, but felt fine after! I love that my body can still handle working out! I try to get in 3 solid workouts a week. At least one at the gym for some "heavy" lifting. Now I know I am not lifting heavy, but to keep good form with a big belly is tough and I am not going to kill my back just to look strong!

Friday Funnies: "is that a bear?"


Kids say the darndest things right? Well last night, that was our house!
During bath time Vince tooted, and looked up with the most serious face and asked "is that a bear?"
Jacob and I busted out with laughter and even shed a couple laughter tears. Vince kept tooting and then would laugh hysterically! Even one time he said again "whoa a bear, rooaaarr!"
Now yes this is a blog about toots, but it was hilarious and something I don't want to forget, and if it gives you a laugh on this beautiful Friday, then perfect!

33 weeks

How Far Along:33 weeks! And I finally have a comparison blog that is here from when I was pregnant with Vince! I still laugh when I read that I always thought I would  have him early and was so excited that full term was only 4 weeks away! Little did I know I would go 1 day late!

Size of baby: At 32 weeks  with Vince the ultrasound said he was 4lbs 12oz  and I am guessing that was probably pretty accurate since he was 8lbs 6oz at birth, so I am guessing Norah is around the same! She feels huge in my belly!

Total Weight Gain/Loss: 18 pounds up! Which is half of what I was at with Vince at 33 weeks where I was a +38lbs

Maternity Clothes: Still just the pants, but again I think I need to get some longer shirts here soon!

Movement: Tons and tons! I love it!

Symptoms: Not many symptoms this week!

Sleep: Doing good! I am noticing that I am not as comfortable and I find that I wake up a couple times to adjust, but other than that no complaints!

What I miss:  Nothing really this week, maybe the ease of tying my shoes!
Cravings:  Collard greens! I swear I could eat them with every meal! I also really wanted a cake pop this weekend and I had been 17 days gluten free and boy oh boy did I regret that decision 4 hours later!

Best Moment This Week: Actually it was painting her crib, it is a huge pain, but since I am done with the first coat and can tell how cute it is going to look I now don't mind! Ask me while I applying the second coat and I might change my mind.

As far as working out and sticking to my paleo lifestyle, I am doing pretty good! I got some pretty good workouts in this week both at the gym and at home. I did have my day of eating gluten and again my stomach was hating me, and it even more made me realize that this is what is best for my body right now! Also have a side by side comparison of 33 weeks with Norah and Vince and although I think I still looked pretty good at 33 weeks with Vince, the difference to me seems pretty crazy!

32 weeks

How Far Along: 32 weeks. Which is currently blowing my mind!! 8 weeks is not very long and considering that both Thanksgiving and Christmas fall in those 8 weeks, it will be here before I know it!

Size of baby: Almost 4 pounds, or if she is anything like Vince over 4 pounds! And about 17 inches.  

Total Weight Gain/Loss: 17 pounds, so up one pound from last week! With Vince I was up 36 pounds at 32 weeks, so I am proud!

Maternity Clothes: Still all the same, but I do think I might have to invest in a couple longer shirts here soon!

Movement: All the time! She moves a lot different that I ever remember Vince moving!

Symptoms: I am starting to feel the fatigue come back. Both Saturday and Sunday I napped, and I am not a napper!!

Sleep: Great, the time change was not very nice to our house though, and by that I mean Vince. 

Cravings:  Nothing too crazy, I love dark chocolate and have been giving into that from time to time. I also went to Target and saw coconut milk ice cream in mint flavor, it wasn't quite 100% paleo, but pretty close and AMAZING!

This morning I have my doctors appointment and I get a quick ultrasound to see if she is head down. So it will be exciting to see the little girl! I also really need to get on painting her crib. At this point with Vince his nursery was already done, maybe I am just being more realistic this time and know that she won't even sleep in there for a while, but I do need to get on it!! 

As far as fitness, I kept it pretty low key this week, I have choose sleep or getting a workout in and I am completely ok with that! Also sticking to eating paleo and walking each day is keeping me feeling good!

Our Halloween

We had such a blast this year taking Vince out trick or treating for the first time. He was a robot and we met up with some friends and their daughter was Dorothy and even had her very own little toto!

They live on base so we decided to just go over there with them. Since Vince can't eat any chocolate (dairy) and has never had any other candy, I was a little worried that he would want to eat it as it went into his bag, but thankfully he didn't! We walked around for an hour, until he wanted to be picked up, only by me and be carried. That got a little tiring so we called it a night. On the way home, we looked at his candy and someone gave out pretzels, so that was his "candy" and he was more than thrilled about it! Jacob took the rest to work to keep the temptation out of the house and left one sucker for Vince.

Unfortunately that night he woke up about an hour after he fell asleep and had a fever and spent the rest of the night in our bed. And I got to stay home with him today, hence the two blog posts all while he is napping. He also has a mild cold, but just seems tired and still has the fever. Lets all hope it doesn't carry on through the weekend or we will be stuck in the house and the weather is beautiful!

Paleo Pumpkin Waffles

Like almost every other blogger out there, I am a huge sucker for pumpkin. I could have pumpkin bread, muffins, chai lattes and seeds just about for every meal and be completely ok with that!

With trying to stay to a pretty paleo lifestyle these past 10 weeks I have found and adapted this recipe to fit my needs and love it! I keep it as a treat and usually only eat them on Saturdays when I make Vince his gluten/egg/dairy free waffles and Jacob his normal buttermilk waffles. It is our Saturday treat and we all love it! Vince calls it cake and I top his with local organic honey or organic 100% maple syrup and coconut oil (which he calls butter.)

First and foremost, if you don't have a waffle maker, go get one! This is the one we have and love it! Mostly because it stands up straight and with our lack of storage in our kitchen, we just keep this on the counter and it isn't a huge eye sore hiding by our fridge.

Now lets get down to the waffles!

Paleo Pumpkin Waffles

5 eggs
1.5 cups pumpkin puree
2 tablespoons coconut oil(melted)
2 tablespoons coconut flour
1/4 teaspoon pumpkin pie spice (optional)

In one bowl combine the eggs and pumpkin. Whisk it up pretty good. In a small separate bowl combine the coconut oil and flour, this is going to be the thickener to the waffle. Mix the coconut combination into the pumpkin and eggs and then the pumpkin pie spice. Wait a couple minutes and you will notice that the mixture has thickened. Then I use my 1 cup measuring cup and make the waffles. I also sometimes use coconut oil before I pour the mixture just to ensure they don't stick.

 I have also made a variation with 1/4 a teaspoon of baking soda, but ran out one week and noticed it didn't change the texture or flavor so I have been keeping it out. If you don't have a waffle maker and are going to do these as pancakes, which this recipe will work for as well you might want to add the baking soda. Also if making pancakes, make them small because they are a tad hard to flip, why I love them as a waffle so much more.

They are so delicious! They almost have a pumpkin French toast flavor, and I love topping them with coconut oil and if I want a little sweet kick, then the organic 100% maple syrup.
